6 Ways to Save Money Without Giving Up Your Summer Vacation

As spring and summer approaches, it's time to start thinking about all of those summer activities coming up.
Well, here's some easy ways to save money and enjoy a great summer vacation with friends and family.
- Go through your magazines and cancel the subscriptions to the magazines that you no longer have the time or interest to read. You can always subscribe to them again later.
- Instead of paying to go out to the show, how about renting a movie and making popcorn at home? Invite some friends over or have a family night "in".
- For a family vacation, check out the local attractions in your state. You might be surprised at what your own state has to offer for entertainment. You can still have your family vacation, but stay locally and save some money.
- You could also buy a season pass to your local park and go there for a mini-vacation whenever you need to. You can swim, cook out, go for a walk through the park, or lie on the beach and read a good book. In some parks, you can camp out overnight; you can get electrical and water hook-up, have a bonfire at night, rent boats and motors and go fishing, or rent paddle boats and bikes. This is a great way to relax with your family or friends, without all of the distractions of everyday life. Some parks also offer activities, classes, and tours that you can attend.
- Save money on lawn service by mowing your own lawn or hire the neighbor or your own kid to mow it instead of a landscaping company. You can also apply your own fertilizer and weed killer for a lot less than the landscaping company will charge you for this service.
- You can also pay your kids to do other things around the house like washing the car, raking the lawn, cleaning the house, washing the windows, etc. You will give them money anyways so you might as well get something in return and it's cheaper to pay your kids than it is to pay professionals for these services.
The dog days of summer are just around the corner! Enjoy!
